Basil Pesto

This is a classic recipe for best pesto if you like the real deal.

Ingredients

2 cups fresh basil

1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

1/4 cup pine nuts

1 garlic clove

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup olive oil

Directions

  1. Place the basil in a blender.
  2. Pour in about 1/4 cup of the olive oil, and blend basil into a paste.
  3. Gradually add pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, garlic, and remaining oil.
  4. Continue to blend until smooth.
  5. Season your main dish with the sauce.
