Pasta Valente was founded over 35 years ago by Fran Valente.
Pasta making is a family business - Fran makes pasta the same as her mother made it. In 1982, she took her pasta to the Charlottesville Farmer's Market and the popularity of Pasta Valente continued to grow. Today, Fran and her daughter Mary Ann, work side by side making their favorite pastas.
Our pasta is rolled, cut, air-dried and hand-packed. It is a special process that dates back to before Thomas Jefferson (who purchased a pasta machine for his home in 1793 and was an avid pasta lover too). This special process creates an amazing taste and unparalleled texture, all while cooking extremely fast.
Our goal is to give you that simple, enjoyable pleasure that only comes with a delicious bite of pasta. Pasta Valente is a single allergen facility, neither egg, dairy, soy, nut nor peanuts are used in our pasta. We use hard spring wheat and Non GMO ingredients. All of our pastas cook in 3-5 minutes in boiling water.

Florence Pasta Market is inspired by Thomas Jefferson, considered to be the first person to bring the pasta machine to the New World. In Charlottesville we still make our own pasta utilizing the same Italian technique.
Francesca's Vegan Pasta is named after and inspired by our founder's granddaughter, whose compassion for animals led her to go vegan. A delicious choice for a heart healthy, animal-friendly meal.
